Houston Chronicle: Johnston an elite pitcher
The Houston Chronicle says, "The Woodlands' Jordan Johnston led the Houston area by winning 17 of her first 20 decisions for a Lady Highlanders team ranked No. 7 in state after claiming 18 wins in their first 23 games".
Johnston recently beat Lufkin 10-0 on one hit, striking out 10 to increase her total to 135 in 136 innings with a 1.13 ERA. That performance followed a two-hit shutout by Johnston in a 2-0 win over College Park.
"Jordan has done an outstanding job," Lady Highlanders coach Richard Jorgensen. "She's really kept us in every game and that has given us a chance to win every ballgame."

TWHS Fastpitch Softball Booster Club!
Click here and support our Sponsors!
The Woodlands High School Fastpitch Softball Booster Club has been a key part of the softball program in The Woodlands for many years. The fastpitch program has grown in terms of amount of players participating and support from fans, parents, and sponsors. It's individuals and businesses in our community that make it possible for the Lady Highlanders to enjoy playing and representing The Woodlands. We are not only seeking financial sponsorship, but also a long lasting relationship with our sponsors.
We enjoyed a great season this past school year. The Varsity team placed second in district 14-5A and went on to State Play-Offs. The Junior Varsity team placed first in district 14-5A for the second year in a row. Nine of our varsity players were chosen as All-District players, while fifteen of our players were chosen as Academic All-District. Excitement and positive attitudes are definitely a part of our program.
Along with your support our Booster Club performs the following important functions:
- Provides scholarships for deserving senior athletes
- Finances facility improvements, uniforms, and equipment
- Holds an annual banquet for the players
- Creates a TWHS 2007 Fastpitch Keepsake Season Program, Fastpitch Softball Poster Calendar
- Serves as a liaison between the softball program and the community
- Coordinates parent communication
We're looking forward to the 2007 season. Since our annual budget greatly exceeds the allotment provided by the school district for the softball program, sponsorships and fund-raising efforts are critical to the success of the team. This is your opportunity to support your local high school program and make a positive difference for these young ladies. Together we will continue to build a winning fastpitch softball organization.
