Lady Highlanders Fastpitch Softball

2005 Lady Highlanders piled up the honors!

Honors piled up for the 2005 Lady Highlanders and their coach:

  • Beth Krysiak was selected to the Texas Girls Coaching Association State All Star Team and played on the East Squad at the University of Texas in Austin on July 12
  • Elaine Brown was selected the Montgomery County Pitcher of the Year by the Conroe Courier
  • Coach Richard Jorgensen was selected the Co-Coach of the Year by the Conroe Courier
  • Nine Lady Highlands made the 2005 All District team: Elaine Brown (first team), Izzy Glowney (first team), Jill Robinson (first team), Beth Krysiak (first team), Stephanie Krysiak (first team), Stacy Giles (second team), Jessica Arana (second team), Jennifer Schoppe (honorable mention), and Lacee DuBose (honorable mention).

Lady Highlanders rally falls short in the seventh

(April 29, 2005) The best season in the school's history came to a premature end Thursday when the 25-5 Lady Highlands lost to 28-5 Bryan High School Lady Vikings, 4-2, in a single elimination bi-district game at the Aggie Softball Complex on the Texas A&M University campus in College Station.

"I'm proud of the girls," said Head Coach Richard Jorgensen. "They played strong defense all night." He also told the Conroe Courier: "We'll be back next year and we'll go further."

The junior varsity also had a successful year in 2005, finishing with an outstanding 28-2 record for the best JV record in District 14.

Beth joins regional Division 1 softball powerhouse

One of the key cogs in helping the The Woodlands High School varsity softball team go from being winless in league play in 2002 to area power status in 2005 has earned athletic and academic scholarships to attend school and compete collegiality at Centenary College of Louisiana. Beth Krysiak will be joining a Centenary team that advanced to the NCAA regional tournament at Texas A&M. Read about it in the Conroe Courier.
